The Pennsylvania Immigration is proud member of the Shut Down Detention campaign, working along organizations and immigrant leaders across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Our campaign seeks to shutdown the regional detention centers in the tri-state area, demanding the ending of ICE contracts and freedom for those imprisoned in detention centers, not transfers into other facilities.

Pennsylvania now has 8 immigrant detention centers, with the Moshannon Detention Center not only the largest in Pennsylvania, but the largest in the entire northeast. In the four years this prison as been a detention center for immigrants, already three people have died in custody. That is why community members are calling on the Clearfield County Commissioners to end the contracts at the Moshannon Detention Center. They have the power to end their contract with ICE and their contract with the Geo Group NOW.
