Volunteer & Internship Opportunities

New Citizens = New Voters Program:

Every week, the lives of hundreds of families are changed by becoming US Citizens. PICC believes that voting is one of the foundations of being an engaged citizen, so we attend every ceremony in Philadelphia to register new citizens to vote. 

We are excited to announce that starting September 20th 2021, we will be back at USCIS registering New Citizens again and will be following the CDC guidelines. IF IT IS RAINING THERE WILL BE NO CEREMONY

                           There are a few new changes 

  • This time around we will not be in the building we will be outside on the sidewalks. IF IT IS RAINING THERE WILL BE NO CEREMONY

  • We will be using tablets and paper forms as a backup

  •         you must wear a face mask we will also have a mask and hand sanitizer 
  •      If you are sick please stay home safety is first

The ceremonies take place at the USCIS building located on 30th N. 41st Street in Philadelphia. Ceremonies are generally held every Monday to Friday, with volunteer shifts starting at 9:00am and 11:00 am . Please sign up for shifts today! If any changes take place after you sign up, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Civic Engagement Internship:

PICC’s Civic Engagement Internship centers on non-partisan voter registration of new citizens and civic engagement of registered voters, as part of a long-term strategy to increase electoral power in immigrant communities. Interns help to coordinate the New Citizens=New Voters program. The internship is a minimum of 10 weeks.
