On Monday, May 9th, 2011, the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (PICC) held a city wide conference on the topic of language access in healthcare. The conference's goal was to better understand where we are and where we need to go to provide equal access to quality healthcare to Philadelphia's limited English speaking community.
On November 10, 2009 Philadelphia's Mayor Nutter signed an executiveorder about immigration status, as part of the Philly Counts press conference to promote participation in the 2010 Census.
